Global, flexible and individual support
The organisation offers Provident Service for Future Support to manage the requests to anticipate the potential needs for assistance in the future and follow up on them.
For this service, which is very costly given that it requires the involvement of different experts, Support-Girona does not receive any public funding, yet no fee is established for it considering that this could become an entry barrier in critical social circumstances. However, it does accept and appreciate contributions in the form of donations to help finance its costs.
These cases come from notarial deeds denoting future support or powers of attorney in anticipation of the need for future support, which Support-Girona has expressed its willingness to accept or exercise in the event of legally foreseen circumstances.
This service shall provide an answer to the question: ‘How can I foresee my own future support or that of the people I support, when I can't do it?’
As part of the Provident Service for Future Support, follow-up visits are carried out at least once a year and, at the person’s request, as appropriate. The more detailed and updated the information regarding ‘how, where, and by whom’ the person wants to receive future support is, the more possibilities Support-Girona has to adapt it to the will and preferences of the person.
It is important to anticipate the support one may need in the future due to an unexpected disability or aging and express how one wishes to access it.
